Nominating Committee Accepting Nominations for 2018 Board Elections

The NCTA Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for the 2018 election of board positions.  In accordance with the bylaws, the Nominating Committee collects and reviews nominations and compiles the final ballot. Voting will take place in April.

This year, there are three seats to be filled; each seat represents a three year term on the Governing Council beginning with the September 2018 conference and ending with the 2021 conference.

Interested candidates must be collegiate members in good standing and if elected are expected to attend three GC meetings per year (one at the conclusion of the annual conference, one in late fall, and one in the spring); travel expenses and a per diem are covered by NCTA for the fall and spring meetings.  They are also expected to participate actively on the GC and serve on one of the six divisions.

The nominations period opens today, Thursday, February 1, and will close Wednesday, February 28, 2018. In making a nomination, whether nominating a colleague or self-nominating, the nomination must include the following:

  • A cover letter describing why the nominee should be considered for service on the Board; this letter should specifically address service to NCTA (committees, conference support and organizing committees, conference presenter, conference moderator, etc.) as well as relevant personal qualities. Leadership experience is a plus.
  • A current vitae or resume if self-nominated or a description of leadership experience if other nominated (current vitae/resume will be requested of the nominee before decisions about the final ballot are made).
  • The names of 2 NCTA colleagues who can address the nominee's relevant experience and qualifications to run for the Board.

Nomination materials including the names of two NCTA references should be sent to [email protected] no later than Wednesday, February 28, 2018.
