Accommodations at a Distance: Navigating and Integrating Disability Accommodations in a Post COVID World

Preparing for and administering exams with accommodations can be challenging in a perfect testing world. How has accommodated testing changed for students and staff in a post COVID world? While some students can test on campus and give the opportunity to collaborate with a university’s academic disabilities office, others must test virtually and both circumstances present unique challenges and requirements in all stages of testing. We will explore the challenges of working with Examity to incorporate accessibility computer programs into virtual TSI testing as well as preparing for use of Braille test booklets, readers, scribes, and other visual impairment testing aids for in-person TSI tests in pre, during, and post-test conditions. The presentation will conclude with what we believe to be best practice and answering questions from the audience.
